Lor-Rob Tempo. Known as Tempo. He was sired by Cheap Trick. When we went to pick him up at Lor-Rob Farm in N.Y., we were told it was a ‘rock -n-roll’ year as they named their foals. He was foaled January 12, 2012. He is our youngest and our only Stallion. Tempo placed second at the Florida State Draft Horse show for Stallions under 3 years. He has beautifully dreamy eyes and a kind personality for a young stallion. Tempo has had training to ‘drive’ and ride western pleasure. Meet our new fillies sired by Lor-Rob Tempo.
Famous Scottish Thunder. Known as Thunder was born in Ripon, WI at the Larson Farm. He was foaled April 28, 2011. Thunder is a kind hearted Clydesdale gelding. He is the other partner for Rayce in the white faced Clydesdale team. He is very quiet and gentle. He is very special to us at Belgian Acres. He is very thankful for Rayce. Up until Rayce came to the farm, Thunder had lived with only Belgians. Rayce reminded him that he is a proud Clydesdale. At the Florida State Fair, he placed 2nd for Clydesdale gelding under 3 years. Quite an accomplishment for a youngster that never was shown before.

Mocha is trained to drive and ride western and dressage.
Ned. Ned came to us from North Florida. He was foaled January 1997. He is a blonde Belgian gelding. He is a parade trained horse. In his list of achievements, he was in the Rose Bowl Parade. We call him ‘Ole Boy’ some times. We rely on him to teach the other horses to learn to respect each other. He is the leader of all the horses. Ned loves to work by pulling a wagon or carriage. When his harness and collar are being pulled off the hook, he gets very excited!!
About Our Belgians
The Belgian draft horse breed has been the United States since last 1800’s. They were known as the “great horse’ of medieval times. The knights rode this beautiful, but sturdy breed of Belgian horses into battle.
Over time, as knights and battles went by the wayside, the breed has become well known as the work horse breed. They were used by Coors Brewery draft horse hitch in order to compete with the famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The Belgians are known to be powerful, strong, and yet also quite magnificent. Many Belgians can still be seen in the North and Midwest plowing fields and pulling hay wagons.
About Our Clydesdales
The Clydesdale breed originated in Scotland and the first Clydesdale was imported to North America in 1840. These horses are known for their long flowing white feathers on their legs and their grand size. If you have never seen one up close, they are big, magnificent creatures. At Belgian Acres, even though we could have Clydesdales from the American line, we are quite proud to own only Clydesdale horses from the Scottish line in our carriage service.
